A community in the southeast corner of Wyandotte County in Kansas City, Kansas. Bordered by the Armourdale neighborhood and Kansas River on the south nearby the Johnson County, on the west by the Argentine neighborhood, and east by the state of Missouri. It is the home to the University of Kansas Medical Center and the Rosedale World War I Memorial Arch.
Rosedale was then referred to as “The Town of Rosedale, Shawnee Township” during the late 1800s. In 1875 a new population requirement of 600 residents was established for it to become a “City of the Third Class” in Kansas. A presented petition to Hiram Stevens to issue an order for incorporating the village as a city and election of officers was held on August 18, 1877. It was named “The City of Rosedale Kansas”.
